Stimulus events specify the stimulation presented to the experimental subject. Stimuli can be simple or complex, static or dynamic, built-in or custom, or even imported from a file. The stimulus events generate all stimuli on the fly and render them with the specified values from the independent and dependent variables.

Stimuli creation is one of the strongest points of Psykinematix as it offers powerful tools to create various categories of stimuli:

Visual Stimuli
Multimedia Stimuli
Multi-Element Stimuli
Composed Stimuli

Using Variables

To start creating your stimuli, add a leaf or node event in the "Designer Panel", select a category, and click on the "Inspect Properties" button (or press ⌘I). Once the properties panel is open, you can specify the kind of stimuli (several kinds are available for each category), and customize their properties.
